Known Scams.

Scammers often target users in auto middleman communities. Learn how to identify and avoid common scams.

MiddleM staff will never DM you first.

All official support happens through t.me/middlem. Anyone claiming to be support who contacts you first is a scammer.

Fake Websites

Scammers create cloned websites that look identical to MiddleM: same branding, layout and functionality. They may send you links through social media, forums or messaging apps.

Why it's dangerous: Entering your ticket URL or creating deals on fake sites gives scammers full control over your funds.

How to avoid it

  • Always verify you're on middlem.com
  • Bookmark the official site
  • Never click links from untrusted sources
  • Check for HTTPS and correct spelling

Fake Support

A scammer pretends to be MiddleM support, contacting you through Telegram or other platforms. They may claim there's an issue with your deal and ask for sensitive information.

Why it's dangerous: They may trick you into sharing your ticket URL, releasing funds early or sending additional payments.

How to avoid it

  • MiddleM support will NEVER DM you first
  • We only provide support through Telegram
  • Never share your ticket URL with anyone
  • Never share your Support Code with the other participant - they could impersonate you to support
  • If unsure, contact us through the official channel

Reverse Role Scam

The scammer convinces you to select the wrong role during setup. For example, they trick you into selecting 'Receiver' when you're actually the one sending crypto.

Why it's dangerous: Selecting the wrong role means you could send funds without any protection or wait for payment that will never arrive.

How to avoid it

  • Buyer (paying crypto) = Sender
  • Seller (receiving crypto) = Receiver
  • Double-check your role before confirming
  • If confused, ask the other party to clarify the deal terms

Lying About Payment

The buyer claims they've sent funds to escrow when they haven't. They may show fake screenshots or transaction IDs to pressure you into delivering goods early.

Why it's dangerous: If you deliver before funds are confirmed, you lose your goods with no way to recover them.

How to avoid it

  • Only proceed when the system confirms payment
  • Never trust screenshots or verbal confirmations
  • Wait for the official 'Funds Confirmed' message
  • The system automatically verifies blockchain transactions

When in doubt, don't proceed. Contact official support.
